I've got two seperate, but not completely unrelated problems. The first is that when setidriver launches (this happens on startup as I placed a shortcut in the startup folder) it doesnt start minimized, but instead you get the window open on the desktop. Now, on my computers, this isnt an issue, because I know to just minimize it and because I restart all of once a week. On my dads computer however, this is an issue, especially since theres a big exit button right there for him to press to shutdown seti altogether. Now, the easy way around this problem is to just install setidriver as a service, preventing it from interacting with the desktop. However, that would exacerbate problem #2. Problem #2 being that my dads comp is still stuck in dialup hell. So running setidriver as a service means there's no icon in the systray that can be easily clicked to transmit units when the computer is online. Not that my dad will ever remember to transmit the units anyway, but if the icon is at least there I can always email and remind him every few days. I would prefer, however, a more automated solution. some way of detecting whether there is an internet connection or not and telling setidriver to transmit. Now, unless I'm mistaken, if setidriver is set to auto-transmit, simply re-starting it while there's an internet connection should force it to send/fill the cache. Stoping/starting a service is easy enuf, if I go that route, but that still leaves the problem of detecting the internet connection. Which would be why I'm typing up this post, to ask for a little help. Alternatively, is there another windows caching program that will do this automagically??

When the current bandwidth "crisis" appeared about a month ago, there were apparently some public postings in the SETI newsgroups saying they were looking at just such things.However, they also mentioned in passing that it was harder to find huge amounts of free bandwidth than meets the eye. Or, so I remember from what was re-quoted in this space (I don't have time to read all imaingable newsgroups, not even the SETI ones). Clearly, there are folks working on the problem (else we'd have been under constraint for at least a whole month or more) and there's even talk of a client update to do whatever compression is possible (not as easy as it looks). None of this, I think, qualifies yet as a real cure for these woes, if there is one. There are some serious "control" issues here (including their "security by obscurity" controls, a necessary evil under the circumstances) and it isn't easy to manage distribution even if you presume people are waiting in the wings to surrender bandwidth for free. We may be seeing the beginning of the rest of this project's life. I had so hoped Poof is right and the bandwidth would always be found. Perhaps it will be so despite this.Meanwhile, we can cheer ourselves with the thought that none of this has shown up in production numbers yet. At least not in an obvious, can't miss it way. I haven't done a definitive study, but as I look at my team data, and zAm's, I don't see a big fall off or anything like that. Anyone look at Berkeley's or Roving Mouse's track to see if there's been any fall off?

I am a new player and am curious as to why the trumpet seems to be overshadowed by the saxophone in modern rock, pop and soul music. Songs by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen (just to name a few) occasionally feature saxophone solos. Where in these different genres of music can trumpet be found out front?

I've been listening to soul music lately, and don't get me wrong, I really like it, but just out of curiosity I was wondering if there were soul musicians who are kind of less commercial, and musically more sophisticated? The type of soul I'm aware of is rather simple and intuitive if you analyze it, and I know soul music isn't meant to be written like Bach fugues or Gil Evans arrangements but I'm just asking.

The new expansion has sucked the fun and life out of the game for me. I'm not having fun at all. also, If I see one more "shudderwock drain deck" I'm going to lose it. Anyone else feels like the game is no longer fun for them?

Hagatha the Witch: I believe shaman has huge potential in this meta due to Hex being such a good counter to so many things. But Hagatha can be so awkward. Epics: There are more than a few epics I could use. Book of Specters, to go with my Arugal, Crushing Walls and Psychic Scream, a few good removals for my favorite classes, my missing Level Up!, a few funky epics for random decks, Corpsetaker, Nightmare Amalgam, Corridor Creeper, Arcane Tyrant.

This expansion is terrible. I've been playing since Nax and don't remember a time when the meta became stale quicker than now. I mean, really, it took maybe 2 days before the masses stopped experimenting and settled down to Aggro Pally, Cube, and Spiteful decks. Why? Because the devs dropped the ball on play testing and planning. Plus, to be honest, most players can't even afford a whole new set of fun decks because of how expensive Hearthstone has become. I opened 180 packs after WW and didn't even have the ability to craft every major deck in ranked. It's time for the community to step up and start demanding from Team Five.
I'm looking actual reasons why people play the standard format over Wild or Arena. I've played around 50 standard games since the expansion and I probably won't play too many more. It's at a point in hearthstone where, each expansion, everyone gravitates to one of 3-4 decks. In the recent past it's been Razakus, Big priest, Jade druid, to now with cube lock and paladin. So far I feel like 80-90% have been one of those two things - cube lock or even/odd paladin. How is this preferable to playing in wild where there are many more solid decks that you can hit high ranks with? Or arena, where you can have a different experience every draft? Why do people stick to a format where, generally, only 3-5 decks are mainly played?
